Get To Know Me

I grew up in big cities and small towns: born in Alexander City, Alabama. I lived in Montgomery for most of my childhood, where my parents owned and operated a printing business in the 80’s. I quickly became a piece of that business; from sweeping the floors to developing negatives, sales, delivery, and working my way into managing the company. I graduated from Elmore County High School in 1997; my family owned and help develop multiple business’ in Eclectic. Small, local business’ were how my family lived and how I learned to connect with my community. I moved to Lee County in 2000 and have rooted myself and family here. I wanted to make a name for myself in a new place and figured I was the only Whatley in town; I am indeed not the only Whatley in town! I met my wife in 2001. Michele Whatley (Garner), was raised in here in Lee County, served in the army, and came back to Lee County (to meet me). In 2003, we married (best decision i’ve ever made and continue to make) and have five wonderful children together, and five sweet grandkids. From helping my parents running their business’, running my own business, and running my large family, I know a thing or two about hard work and the drive you need to sustain. I would like to use that trait for the people of District Four! After many years of praying, listening, working, and talking to many of you, I have decided to run for District 4 Commissioner so I can be the servant God calls me to be.
